Double-Back Archery, Norwood, MO

Tommy Spencer, Skyline, MO
Tommy has in the Norwood area his entire life. He now lives near Skyline with his wife and six-month-old daughter.
“I have been hunting and fishing for as long as I can remember, from when I would go with my dad till I was able to go by myself.” He began bow hunting when he was 12 years old with an old Golden Eagle, also know to us as “The Clanger”, that was given to him by his uncle. “That is when my passion kinda took off.”
He remembers
shooting his first deer at age 15 with his PSE Nova “I shot her late
in the evening on the north clearing and my dad and decided to go in
to get her after dark. We ended up spooking her up so we pulled out
and waited for daylight. I found her the next day on the “17” but
the coyotes had already eaten the hind quarters off of her”.
Ace Baker, Seymour, MO
Ace has been involved in archery since he was 11 years old, going to the local club with his uncle. As an active youth member he began shooting competitively after saving 100.00 to buy his first bow. “It was a black, silver and chrome Spectra 5000 that had a max pull of 50# with 50% let-off. I shot it until I was 17 and even took my first archery deer with it.”
He is an active hunter and fisherman and enjoys spending time at the lake when not on the range or in a tree stand. His biggest interest is taking his kids and wife hunting so they can enjoy the outdoors together. “The 2 best memories I have are of my wife and son in the deer woods. I took my wife and she shot a doe on her first hunt ever! I was more excited than she was I think. The second happened recently when I put my wife and 7 year old son in a ground blind and he got to watch her take a buck chasing a doe. Again I am sure I was the most excited of the three.”
He has taken multiple deer and turkey with both bow and gun but has a true passion for bow hunting. ”If I could bow hunt year round I would trade in my gun.” So what did they do? They decided to open a 3-d archery range.”We initially opened the range as a way of getting together and enjoying the outdoors with friends and family, the response has been truly amazing and I feel blessed with this opportunity.”
“I want to personally thank anyone who takes time to visit us on or off the range and for visiting our web site.”
